If the waste or black water tank cannot be emptied, there may be several reasons for this. Here are some factors you can check:
1. Check the drain valves
Check if the lever of the mechanical drain valve (1) is fully open. The lever must be in the position as shown in the left picture.
For electric drain valves (2), check whether the valve opens.
- If the electric valve does not open, check the corresponding flat-blade fuses (see owner's manual).
- If the electric drain valve fails, the tank can be manually drained as an emergency measure. The drain valve has a knob that can be used to manually open and close the valve. Pull the knob up as far as it will go (1) and turn it to the left to open the valve.
2. Other factors
- During winter operation, the drain opening may be frozen.
- Check for possible blockages in the drain opening and the drain line.
- Please do not dispose of waste and/or debris, such as coffee grounds, through the motorhome’s drain. This can lead to blockages in the wastewater line.
- Long intervals between emptying increase the likelihood of a blockage in the pipe or a blockage upstream of the valve.
- Empty the tanks regularly; additionally, flush the waste tank regularly.
