The electrical system in Niesmann+Bischoff motorhomes is complex. This article provides a general overview of the system’s most important components and their functions.
Check out our video on this topic:
Central panel
- Turn on and off by using the power button
- The button lights up red for warning messages, such as an empty fresh water tank
- View the status of the leisure batteries, including current draw
- View the fill levels of the tanks
- Note: Starting with the 2025 model year, a system was gradually introduced whereby the waste water tank level is read via the level indicator on the toilet
Leisure batteries (1)
- Dometic Büttner Tempra TLB150 lithium battery (150 Ah)
- Number of batteries depends on the model (up to three in the Arto; up to four in the iSmove & Flair)
- LED indicates warning signals (red means error, green means no error)
- Battery information available via the NDS Energy app
Control units, fuses, and shunts
- Control units for the central panel and door opening
- Light module box (controls all lights in the motorhome) (2)
- Measuring shunt calculates how full or empty the batteries are
- Fuse boxes (3)
Relay box (4)
- Monitors all signals displayed on the central panel, including tank levels
- The fuse box contains backup fuses for the 12-volt main circuits
- Defective fuses light up red
Charging booster (5)
- Charges the leisure batteries while the engine is running
Multiplus charger/inverter (6)
- Multi-function/combination unit:
- Charger for leisure batteries
- Inverter for converting 12 volts to 230 volts
- Always set the switch on the Multiplus to ON
- Remote control inside the vehicle for operating the inverter
- Set it to ON here when 230 volts are needed
- Otherwise, leave it in the “charger only” position
Load module box
- Fuse protection for all components that require a lot of current, such as the front blind or electric drain valves
